My boyfriend and I were outside the entrance to the zoo. I was mesmerized by this guy! Despite all of the commotion all around him, he was playing a rhythm, a sort of meditation, on this cylindrical piece of wood. He would play a rhythm and then squat to the ground, onto his knees, bend forward, then slowly stand up, and repeat again. Nothing could distract him. I stood and watched him for what seemed like 10 minutes. When we came back past him, hours later, he was still following the same pattern that we had observed earlier in the day. Crying babies, screaming kids, families running all around him- but nothing was able to distract him from his flow.
