About the photo: I took the photo on August 9, 2008. I was visiting Gyeongju, in the North Gyeongsang province in South Korea. The photo was taken at Bulguksa temple with my Olympus FE-320 digital camera. It was one of the pause and shoot shots that turn out better than expected- I love the upward look. I was standing at the base of the stairs to the Gwaneumjeon, or "Avalokitesvara's Shrine" ( 관음전) This shrine stands at the highest point of the temple complex. The entire setting is one of the most peaceful I've found in Korea, as I hope the picture denotes.
About the photographer: I'm an English conversation teacher in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. I've been teaching and traveling the country for 6 months. So far, my travels have taken me throughout Korea and into Japan. I hope to travel much more, and share my experiences with you through my pictures. I sincerely thank ESL Daily for giving me the opportunity to do so!
